The Wonderful Flying Machine

It is amazing the things you see when you look up.  At first I thought this was just another parachutist or hang glider.  But upon a closer look.....
this guy is flying with a big fan strapped onto his back!  I am not sure what you call this, but looks "fun" maybe.

I went on line and only found a you tube video called, hang fan gliding or whatever you call this crazy bast**ds.  Yep that's the name I went back and checked it again.  They are very noisy up there according to the you tube video.  I did not hear anything, but we were close to the highway with traffic noise when we spotted him.

After asking Rog about it I learned the name and re-looked it up and found more and correct information
 .

A powered parachute is a parachute with motor and wheels. The aircraft's airspeed is typically about 25–35 mph. PPCs operate safely at heights ranging from a few feet off the ground to altitudes as high as 18,000+ feet. But typical operating heights are between 500 and 1500 feet. Equipped with the standard 5 or 10 gallon fuel tank, PPCs can typically be flown for about three hours. They have very short take-off and landing rolls, sometimes less than 100 ft. PPCs are among the least expensive aerial vehicles. A new one-person powered parachute may cost as little as $5,000. In the United States, most single place PPCs are flown under part 103 of the FAA regulations and, therefore, may be flown without a license or flight instruction. Flight instruction is, however, highly recommended, and an average student can learn to fly a PPC safely with 5 to 10 hours of flight instruction.

As it turns out, powered parachute flight is one of the easiest and safest forms of flight to master and offers the kind of flying experience that is unmatched by other forms of aviation. Powered parachute flight allows pilots to see the world from a low vantage point that is not safely attainable by most fixed-wing airplanes since they are traveling too fast to enjoy the view or avoid obstructions. A powered parachute is the ultimate site-seeing platform that offers you an experience you can share with friends!

Our dinner tonight was leftovers from last night at the Olive Garden.  We added a salad and veggie and it was yummy.  We decided that tonight's TV schedule was going to be election, election, election so we went out and got two movies.  Prometheus to scare the crap out of me.  I looked the rating up and it said SC: do not let young people watch because it will scare the crap out of them.  Something to do with aliens (outer space ones) and destruction on a grand scale and very vivid.  We also got Arthur Christmas so I can laugh.

We must put the cute pics in.  Here is a very young Republican. LOL
